Description

This dual-purpose course is designed to both prepare teachers for the TExES exam and meet the Texas 6-hour update requirement for existing G/T teachers. Lynette Breedlove, Ph.D. has been teaching this course for over a decade. In addition to covering foundational principles of gifted education, this course introduces you to some of the leading thinkers in the field of giftedness.

Dr. Breedlove is the Director of the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science at Western Kentucky University. Previously, she served as the Director of Advanced Academic Studies and Secondary Counseling for Spring Branch ISD, the Coordinator of the Gifted and Talented Program in Fort Bend ISD, and a gifted specialist in Lamar CISD. Dr. Breedlove is currently the treasurer of The Association for the Gifted – Council for Exceptional Children and the Education Committee Chair of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). She is also a past president of the Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT).
